Offering Private and Group classes

I’ve been blessed to teach a variety of classes at my home shop, as well as at NAIT College (Northern Alberta Institute of Technology). I have also been an official demonstrator at Canada’s National Blacksmith Conference (canIRON XII), and at the Texas Blacksmithing Conference 2021.

Here at my shop location, I am excited to be planning classes that range from tool making, Damascus steel, beginner classes, and power-hammer work, to hosting other teachers of the craft to teach their respective specialties.

My workshop is located in the country, a few miles North of Lougheed, Alta.

Go to the “Available Private/Group Classes” page to get more information for the specific classes I offer.

Want to have me teach a class at your location? Contact me for a rate that would include providing all of the tools and materials necessary.

Date Changes:

Sometimes date changes can occur, for example, forging in extremely hot weather is very uncomfortable and in wisdom I may make the decision to reschedule the class. I will do my best to contact you at least two days in advance to notify you of the date change. In the event that we do not have enough registered students for a group class, I will notify you of a date change, or give you the option of taking a private class on that date. Confirmation of the class, and any extra information will be emailed out a few days before the class as well. Your class deposit can be used towards any of the available classes.

CANCELLATION POLICY:

-If a student withdraws from a class more than 14 days before the first day of the workshop, they can either transfer their registration and class deposit to a new date, or request a refund of the deposit.

-If a student withdraws from a class within 14 of the workshop, they will receive no refund of the deposit and will forfeit their place at the workshop.

-If the student who registered isn’t able to make it to the class, they may give their spot to a friend or family member with no payment penalty. Please email ethanhartyblacksmith@gmail.com so that I can be sure the new participant is aware of the course information and directions.
