Ethan Harty (owner of Harty Locomotive Works Ltd.) is a blacksmith from Alberta, Canada. He started forging at 11 years old and studied the “Tools to Make Tools” curriculum under Alec Steele at age 13. In his forging company, his clients range from beginner blacksmiths, to the Calgary Stampede, to B.C. Hydo. He also has a prime interest in antique equipment of all kinds, and he is a certified steam power-engineer in Alberta and Saskatchewan.

Harty Locomotive Works Ltd. specializes in making quality tools for the blacksmith, farrier, and knife-maker, making damascus steel, teaching classes, and small scale industrial forging.
